How to Pray

Prayer is the lifeblood of the Christian life. And yet, many people struggle to pray. We believe this acronym can be a helpful framework for your prayers.

Adoration - 1 Chronicles 29:10-13; Psalm 63:3-4

Confession - Psalm 139:23-24; 1 John 1:4-9

Thanksgiving - Psalm 100:4-5; 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Supplication - Philippians 4:6; 1 Timothy 2:1-4

Reading the Bible

Reading the Bible can be daunting for many people, but the truths within it form the cornerstone of our faith. Here at BPAC, we recommend either the New Living Translation or the New International Version as great options for the Bible. Below is a link to Amazon to purchase a Life Application Study Bible (there are cheaper ones available - and we would be happy to give you an NLT Bible as a gift at no charge if you come to a service), a link to the Bible Project - a website that has great video overviews of the Bible and more, and a link to the YouVersion Bible app that you can download to your mobile device.

Getting Baptized

Baptism is one of the sacred ceremonies of the church, a sign that a person has surrendered their life to Jesus. For more information about baptism - what it is, why you should get baptized or what it looks like, click on the button below.

Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death?  For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. Roman 6:3–4 NLT

The importance of Church

You were created for community, and in order for you to grow in your new relationship with Jesus, it is crucial that you connect to a healthy church.

Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. - Hebrews 10:23–25 NLT
